The bed detail page is the most detailed view in Sentalis. It shows everything about a single bed — the patient’s current state, live vital signs, recent activity, and a full alert history — all updating in real time.

Patient information

The patient card on the left panel displays:
  • Patient ID — a de-identified code generated at admission (not the patient’s name or date of birth)
  • Age and sex — entered at the time of admission
  • Admitting category — the clinical specialty, such as Medical, Surgical, or Cardiology
  • Attending doctor — the doctor’s name as entered at admission
  • Admission date — displayed as a relative time (e.g. “3 hr ago”)
  • Risk score — a 0–100 numeric score with a colour-coded label (Low, Moderate, High, Critical)
You can adjust the risk score directly from this card using the slider or the preset buttons.

Live status indicator

A large visual indicator fills the background of the page to show the patient’s current state at a glance:
StatusColourDescription
In bedCyanPatient is in the bed
Out of bedAmberPatient has left the bed
In bathroomPurplePatient is in the ensuite; a live timer shows elapsed time
Fall detectedRedA fall event has been triggered
MotionlessAmberNo patient movement detected for an extended period
Red status indicators (fall detected) require an immediate response. Act according to your facility’s emergency protocols.
When a patient is in the bathroom, a dedicated Bathroom timer card appears in the left panel. The timer counts up from the moment the patient entered the bathroom and turns red once the configured threshold is reached.

Vitals display

The vitals mini panel shows the four most recent sensor readings:
  • Heart rate (bpm)
  • SpO₂ (%)
  • Temperature (°C)
  • Respiratory rate (/min)
Values highlighted in amber indicate a reading outside the normal range. Readings update automatically as new data arrives from the sensors — no page refresh required. Click any vital tile to open the QADDS chart, a detailed time-series view of that vital sign over the past hours.

Activity card

The activity card summarises recent patient movement over the last 24 hours:
  • Staff interventions — total number of interventions and how many occurred in the last hour
  • Last in-bed movement — time of the most recent micro-motion detected at the mat
  • Last out-of-bed event — time and total minutes out of bed in the past 24 hours
  • Last toilet visit — time of the most recent bathroom presence event

Page tabs

Use the tabs at the top of the page to access additional information about the bed:
The default view. Shows the patient card, risk score, vitals, activity card, and vitals spark charts. Use this tab during routine monitoring.

Returning to the ward

Select the breadcrumb link at the top left of the page — showing the ward name and bed ID — to return to the Ward Detail page.
