The ward detail page is the main view you will use during a shift. It shows every bed in a single ward as a live grid, with sidebar panels that surface alerts requiring attention.

The bed grid

Each bed appears as a card in the grid. A card shows:
  • Bed label — the bed’s identifier (e.g. MED-05, TRAN-01)
  • Patient ID — a de-identified code assigned when the patient was admitted
  • Bed status — indicated by the card’s background colour and glow
  • Risk score — a numeric score from 0–100 shown when a patient is admitted
  • Active alert indicators — small icons on the card when an alert is in progress
Beds without a patient admitted are shown as available with no patient information.

Bed colour and status legend

The colour of each bed card tells you the patient’s current state:
ColourStatusWhat to do
Cyan glowIn bed — patient is in the bedRoutine monitoring
Dark / no glowAvailable — bed is emptyNo action required
AmberOut of bed — patient has left the bed or is wanderingCheck if intervention is needed
RedFall detected or safety alert activeRespond immediately per your facility’s protocols
PurpleIn bathroom — patient is in the ensuiteMonitor the bathroom timer in the sidebar
GreyMaintenance or cleaning — bed is not in useNo patient action required
Red bed cards indicate a safety event that may require immediate attention. Respond according to your facility’s response protocols without delay.
On the right side of the ward detail page, three panels surface time-sensitive information:
  • Bathroom monitor — lists every patient currently in the bathroom with a live elapsed timer. The timer turns red and pulses when a patient exceeds the configured threshold, indicating a nurse check is recommended.
  • Attention needed — active alerts for beds in this ward, sorted by severity. Fall and high-risk events appear at the top.
  • Motionless monitor — beds where no patient movement has been detected for an extended period. The timer turns amber after 10 minutes, flagging patients who may need attention.
The sidebar panels only appear when there is data to show. If all patients are stable, these panels are hidden.

Opening a bed

Click on any bed card to open the full Bed Detail page for that bed. From there you can see patient information, live vitals, alerts, notes, and sensor data.

Switching between wards

Use the ward selector at the top of the page to jump directly to another ward without returning to the Wards Directory. Click the selector to see a list of all wards in your facility and select one to navigate to it.
